Dancers: Hollie McGovern and Heather SorterThese photos were taken on an unprotected dune crest about 200 feet from the Pacific Ocean, during an early spring storm. We worked for perhaps 20 minutes in driving rain and sustained 25 mph winds, at temperatures of about 55°F. The footing was difficult at best on the soft wet sand. Special thanks to the dancers for enduring harsh conditions.

Dancers: Elizabeth Barrett and Michelle KummrowThis time weather conditions were better, with clear skies and temperatures near 70°F. The harsh sunlight and soft, dry sand posed different but perhaps more comfortable challenges for photographer and dancers.
